After much testing and research, we have concluded that our leather goods are best cared for with Wheeler's Leather Balm. It's so good we decided to stock it (ref LEA01)! Applied regularly, your leather products should give you years of service. Please note that the colour may fade a little over time (though this is far from unattractive in itself) - particularly if left in direct sunlight. If this happens and you want it to look like new, don't panic! One of our lovely customers (thank you Alexandra!) has shared a rescue treatment she's found: http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Recolouring_Balm.php
This stuff really works - we've seen before and after pictures and can heartily recommend it.
These cabinets come coated with a fine film of oil which protects them and maintains their finish (don't worry, it's not going to ruin your clothes!). Do not use a scourer or abrasive cleaner of any kind as this will strip this coating off and mark the unit, leaving it looking dry and mottled. If you have to clean your cabinet you are best off using a dry cloth and reapplying a tiny amount of baby oil or 3-in-1 oil.
These brilliant products may eventually start to lose some of their 'stick'. We have found that this is frequently due to a fine layer of soap scum or bathroom cleaner that stops the suction pads achieving their maximum hold. Try cleaning the pads and the surface onto which you want to place your basket or organiser with vinegar. This will 'clear the decks' and should help you reattach the unit to its best capability.
